Memphis Bleek makes Jay-Z a sandwich

Memphis Bleek makes the sandwich with care. He selects the finest cheese and lays it meticulously on the bread on both sides. He then spreads Hellman’s mayo on the cheese, because experience has taught him that Jay-Z likes the mayo on the cheese and not the bread. Memphis Bleek thinks this is crazy but has never said to anything to Jay-Z out of respect.

He cuts fine slices of Boar’s Head brand ham and turkey and lays them with love upon the cheese. He puts the two halves of the sandwich together and wraps it in a paper towel. Only the finest for Jay-Z.

He goes to the Roc Nation offices in midtown, which is a fifty minute subway ride from Bed-Stuy. There is one transfer. Memphis Bleek doesn’t mind, though. For Hov.

After waiting in the all black everything waiting room for approximately thirteen minutes, the secretary (who looks a lot like a mysterious, heretofore unknown Knowles sister) allows Bleek to take the elevator to the twenty-seventh floor of the building where Jay-Z’s office is. It was humid out and Memphis Bleek worries that the sandwich might be soggy. Part of him thinks he is crazy, though.

He’s about to knock on the door to Jay-Z’s office when he hears something that makes his blood run cold.

“J. Cole, this is a really delicious sandwich!”

“Thanks, Jigga! Say, isn’t it crazy how both of our rap names start with the same sound?”

“Yeah, sure. Are there avocados in this? You learn that shit from Jay Electronica?”

Memphis Bleek hangs his head. He has outlived his usefulness.
